Checklist

• The application must be completed in full. The application will not be considered if any information is incomplete.
• Submit Essay.
• Sign certification.
• Have a high school teacher, guidance counselor, or principal complete the character evaluation and submit a letter of recommendation.

Dates of Importance • Monday, March 9: Must return application and all materials to Etex. • Monday, March 16: Student will be notified that he or she has been chosen. • Friday, March 27: If selected, registration paperwork must be turned in to Etex. • Tuesday, May 26: (5:30p,-7pm) If selected, Student/Parent Dinner meeting with CEO of Etex and Designated Chaperon. • June 6—10: Tour Dates The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) Youth Tour will bring 100 high school students from rural America together for an exciting experience. Your locally-owned telecommunications company will sponsor an area student to attend the FRS Youth Tour. Students MUST be a high school student ages 16 or 17 at the time of the Youth Tour. FRS will not accept any student age 18 or over. The FRS Youth Tour:

• Offers rural students an inside look at the telecommunications industry.
• Educates students about the legislative and governmental process.
• Gives students the opportunity to experience the nation’s capital and visit famous historical sites, including the Lincoln Memorial, the U.S. Capitol, Mount Vernon and Arlington National Cemetery.
• Allows students to meet youth from rural areas across the country, develop leadership skills and help point their communities toward the future.
