Where to Obtain Your Battery Backup
Etex would like to ensure that our customers are provided reliable backup batteries that allow you to continue to use your home voice services during a power outage. That is why we offer optional backup batteries, an 8 hour battery and a 24 hour battery for purchase directly from Etex. If you have any questions or simply want to purchase a battery backup through us, please call 1-877- 482-3839, visit our website at www.etex.net/existing-customer/battery-backup-information, or visit our business office. Our 8 hour battery backup cost $75 plus tax and our 24 hour battery backup cost $150 plus tax. If purchasing your battery backup from Etex, you can guarantee that the battery will be compatible with your equipment and we will provide helpful information about how to self-monitor and self-test the backup battery. We will also provide any applicable warranty information. Battery installation is easy, but if you do not feel comfortable installing your own battery, we would be happy to assist you. Please note, however, that there may be a charge for installation.
What Your Backup Battery Can – and Can’t – Do for You
The 8 hour battery offered by Etex is approximately 6 lb. 14 oz. and is roughly the size of 6.61”x 3.18 “ x 7.28” and the 24 hour battery is 17 lb. and is roughly 11” x 11.75”. Our 8 hour backup battery is expected to last at least 8 hours on standby power and the 24 hour battery will last approximately 24 hours on standby power. Our backup batteries do not provide power to any service other than voice. Home security systems, medical monitoring devices, routers and other equipment will not run on a home phone backup battery.
Instructions for Proper Care and Use of Your Battery
Please follow the more detailed instructions included with your battery for proper use, storage and care of your battery to ensure that it will function as needed during a power outage. If you do not store your battery correctly, it may shorten its useful life. Environmental factors such as temperature can shorten your battery’s useful life. We recommend that you store your battery between 32°F to 104°F.
